Naming

This is one of my first books in which I explored how a book behaves. The poem that it is comprised of is about the names we give objects and body parts and how inadequate these names can be. It states that there is an essence underneath these names, that there is something more. The way that this book grows and contracts physically is reflective of the flowing and changing meaning and naming of things. The abstract landscape also moves, grows, and contracts through the book, like the typography and the pacing of the book. I saw the blue on the back of the book as standing for that something that resides underneath, some essence.
