Little Earth Annual Report

Little Earth Of United Tribes is a subsidized housing project in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is the only Native American owned urban housing project that has Native American preference in the country. Started in 1973, it has been straddled with many challenges. It has recently been going through changes for the better through new leadership and programing. This report (their first) sought to stress that the biggest asset the community has is its members for the benefit of both audiences set out by the client–the residents themselves (each houshold recieved a copy) as well as present and potential funders.

The project provided many challenges including finding a straight forward structure, content development, on site interviews (for quotes), and photography direction. I worked with another designer, Molly Sherman,
in the initial stages of research, content acquisition and design. I also
worked with photographers Kate Anderson and Joe Kramm, and illustrators Lindsey Lesh and Evan Palmer. I worked closely with our client, Kelly Morgan, to develop a document that was culturally rich in a sensitive manner. This project was made while workiing at MCAD's DesignWorks.
